I received my PhD in 2023 working in Karen Adelman’s lab, studying how premature transcription termination affects gene expression. This work – and previous experience in the piRNA pathway – sparked my interest in host-pathogen conflicts mediated by nucleic acids. In the Glaunsinger lab, I’m excited to explore the mysterious ways in which herpesviruses like KSHV express late genes using virally-encoded transcriptional activators.
